LSS Life Support System
BUCHEN-ICS carries out all work in the reactor in a nitrogen atmosphere. Used here, as the central component of the safety equipment needed for this purpose, is the LSS Life Support System. This breathing apparatus system, proven in many years of use in our firm, guarantees safe working in closed containers under inert conditions.
In the safety and monitoring vehicle, the reactor technician is continuously monitored by camera and voice radio and the air supply is continuously checked. Even in panic situations, optimum protection is ensured for the technician, since he cannot remove the breathing helmet without assistance.
The condition of the reactor internals and the entire work in the reactor are documented on video so that, on the basis of these data, we can also make direct decisions on the measures necessary.
The essential components of the LSS:
- integral personal breathing apparatus helmet with three air lines operating independently of one another
- integral communication system between Top Supervisor, LSS Supervisor and Reactor Technician
- Overpressure air supply system for five reactor technicians simultaneously
- Ex and O2 analysis instruments
- Documentation system (Ex protected camera, recording unit)
