The Octopus

In the field of industrial catalyst service, the clean separation of the catalyst, dust and ceramic material, while taking account of all the requirements with regard to safety, health and the environment, is of particular importance.

With the "Octopus", BUCHEN-ICS has developed a mobile grading plant which sets new standards. The catalyst material from crude oil processing can now be separated directly on the customer's premises.

Two screening machines, various conveyor systems and a central dust extraction unit with high grade filter systems separate the catalyst-ceramic material into a maximum of six fractions. The screened off materials from the plant are packed directly into containers for further processing. The whole plant is designed to be dustproof in the product contact area and the Ex protection complies with Ex Zone 1.

From the input point to the container, the catalyst mixture is processed under exclusion of ambient atmosphere, without direct contact with atmospheric oxygen or water. The whole interior of the plant is inertised with nitrogen throughout the processing in order to keep the oxygen content below 4 %.
